About the position

Our client in Torrance, CA is looking for a Software Developer. This is a short term contract position. The role involves developing custom tools for NVidia Omniverse to implement it as a comprehensive visualization suite, supporting the creation of high-quality 2D renderings, 3D animations, and Virtual and Mixed Reality scenes. The developer will collaborate with designers and engineers to understand visualization requirements and deliver effective solutions, utilizing VFX and visualization technologies to enhance the visual representation of automotive products. The position requires working with the strengths of the USD file format to achieve the desired visual outcome and ensuring that the visualization quality meets the standards of automotive styling studios.

Responsibilities

  • Develop custom tools for NVidia Omniverse to implement it as a comprehensive visualization suite.
  • Support the creation of high-quality 2D renderings, 3D animations, and Virtual and Mixed Reality scenes.
  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to understand visualization requirements and deliver effective solutions.
  • Utilize VFX and visualization technologies to enhance the visual representation of automotive products.
  • Work with strengths of USD file format to desired visual outcome.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software development, particularly in creating visualization tools.
  • Proficiency with NVidia Omniverse and its various components.
  • Strong understanding of VFX and visualization work.
  • Familiarity with the visualization quality standards in automotive styling studios.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and C++.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling software and tools like Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max.
  • Familiarity with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity.
  • Understanding of shader programming and materials.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Virtual and Mixed Reality development.
  • Knowledge of automotive design and styling processes.
  • Familiarity with other visualization tools and software.
