About the position

The Social Worker Program Coordinator position at the Department of Veterans Affairs involves overseeing the housing process for the HUD-VASH program, working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to assist Veterans in securing and maintaining permanent housing. The role includes leadership responsibilities, data management, and potential clinical case management for a reduced caseload of Veterans. This position is critical in ensuring effective program operations and support for Veterans' housing needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the supervisory team in day-to-day operations of the HUD-VASH program.
  • Act as a team leader for the assigned multi-disciplinary team.
  • Collect and distribute data related to the housing process, including voucher utilization and project-based building census.
  • Report requested data to SFVAHCS, VISN, and VACO leadership.
  • Serve as a clinical case manager for a reduced caseload of Veterans in the HUD-VASH program.
  • Provide supervision as needed based on agency requirements and personal interest.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Master's degree in social work from a CSWE accredited school.
  • Licensed or certified to independently practice social work at the master's degree level.
  • One year of experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in social work.
  • Demonstrated advanced practice skills and judgment in social work.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification or post-master's degree training from a recognized professional organization.
  • Experience in program coordination and administration.
