About the position

SANY’s Utica Academy of Science Charter School’s Junior-Senior High School is excited to announce immediate openings for the Social Studies Teacher (Grades 6-12). The school is located at 160 School Ln., Frankfort, NY, 13340. We are looking for dynamic and creative Teachers. We have a great environment for new teachers and encourage experienced teachers to apply! New York State Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging lesson plans that conform to the charter's curriculum
• Collaborate with staff to determine the charter requirements for the instructional goals, objectives, and methods
• Prepare students for the standardized tests relevant to the content area
• Demonstrate excellent content knowledge and pedagogy
• Utilize analytics and data to help drive instruction and promote learning
• Welcome regular feedback, accountability, and the rewards that come with doing a great job serving our students & communities
• Maintain great classroom management

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master's degree preferred
• New York State Certification required
• Experience with a diverse population of students or in an urban setting is a plus
• Prior teaching experience is preferred and novice teachers are encouraged to apply
• Fingerprint clearance through the NYS Department of Education
