About the position

McCann Content Studios is a department within McCann New York responsible for the development, ideation, and execution of social-focused brand campaigns. The McCann Content Studio is defined by hybrid skillsets and driven by modern online culture, and you'll be working on a wide variety of projects for some of the best loved brands in the U.S. across multiple consumer categories. We're seeking an experience Social Strategy Director to serve as a key partner for clients, ensuring their social media needs are met. This role combines social content strategy, social media planning and comms strategy, with insightful vision-setting and out of the box thinking for our brands. You will be expected to partner with internal Creative Leads both inside of McCann Content Studios as well as the larger McCann agency, as well as client teams across disciplines to service the range of needs to support the development of video and digital content for brands. Responsibilities

  • Leads development of platform-specific social strategies across multiple major accounts, determining optimal platform mix and content approaches based on audience behavior and business objectives
  • Guides teams on emerging platform opportunities (BlueSky, Threads, TikTok Shop) and how to leverage them for different brand categories
  • Oversees social listening programs to identify audience insights, trending conversations, and competitive opportunities across platforms
  • Develops measurement frameworks for social campaigns, establishing KPIs that align with broader marketing objectives
  • Partners with client leadership to integrate social strategies into larger marketing initiatives

Requirements

  • 8+ years experience in social media strategy
  • Deep understanding of platform algorithms and content performance patterns
  • Experience developing social strategies for major brands across industries
  • Strong background in social analytics and measurement
  • History of implementing innovative social campaigns
  • Experience presenting to C-suite clients
  • Track record of growing accounts through strategic initiatives
