About the position

This position is a federal role located in Parker, AZ, with an open application period from December 31, 2024, to January 15, 2025. The role requires candidates to demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the position. This includes both paid and unpaid experience, such as volunteer work through National Service programs like the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps, as well as other professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, and social organizations. Candidates must clearly identify their duties and responsibilities in each position held, including the total number of hours worked per week.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to mental healthcare professionals in hospitals, private institutions, or patient residences.
  • Observe and report information about patient behavior to healthcare professionals, including mood swings and the wellbeing of patients.
  • Transport patients to and from appointments.
  • Provide direct non-professional client care and assistance to mental health professionals.
  • Track behavioral changes in patients and report to providers.
  • Develop and implement treatment programs.

Requirements

  • At least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 grade level in the Federal service.
  • Experience must include providing support to mental healthcare professionals and observing/reporting patient behavior.
  • For GS-7, at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service is required.
  • Education: Completed 1 year (18 semester hours) of graduate education directly related to the position, or a combination of education and specialized experience.
