About the position

The Social Media Assistant Manager is responsible for planning and executing Honda Marine's social media strategy across all owned channels to enhance brand awareness, engage & increase our audience, and drive traffic to the company's digital platforms. This role oversees creating and curating content, monitoring social media channels, and analyzing performance metrics to optimize social media campaigns. This exciting role drives the organic social media brand voice for Honda Marine USA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement social media strategies for Honda Marine's owned channels to align with short-, medium- & long-term business goals.
  • Conduct research on current trends and audience preferences.
  • Develop & execute plans based on said research.
  • Analyze social listening data and performance metrics, identify key target audience needs to develop content strategies.
  • Create, edit, and publish engaging content across various social media platforms.
  • Curate content from relevant sources to share with the audience.
  • Manage agency content development initiatives.
  • Track & analyze competitive landscape for trends & performance.
  • Work with vendors to monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions.
  • Respond to inquiries and engage with followers in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor & report on competitive channels for awareness of industry messaging and trends.
  • Analyze social media metrics on a regular basis to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and organic channels.
  • Establish & track performance goals.
  • Prepare reports and provide insights to improve future strategies.
  • Work with internal teams such as marketing, PR, PRO, PP, Service, Legal to develop content strategies & ensure brand consistency.
  • Coordinate with external vendors & stakeholders, including agencies, content producers, influencers & partners to amplify the brand's reach.

Requirements

  • BA / BS in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related field.
  • 8 + years of experience in social media management, communications, marketing or a related field; working with large brands or advertising agency experience preferable.
  • Proven history of developing and executing successful social media campaigns.
  • Experience with content creation, community management, and performance analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of social media platforms (specifically Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X), their functionalities, respective audiences & best practices.
  • High proficiency in social media management tools and analytics as well as adobe creative suite applications.
  • Proven experience creating, editing, and publishing content.
  • Ability to shoot video & stills, edit, copywrite to accompany visual content & output for public consumption.
  • Paid, owned, and earned social media proficiency.
  • Experience in mitigating resolving brand risk and crises.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to identify potential opportunities and risks within social media activities.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to evolving technologies and industry trends.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines.
  • Creative thinker with a keen eye for design aesthetics.
  • Proficient in analyzing data and extracting insights to improve social media performance.
  • A passion for marine industry & social media.

Nice-to-haves

  • Marine industry experience highly valuable.
  • Professional certifications in social media management, AI or related fields are a plus.
