To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a 3rd shift SMT Operator located in Walker, MI. Reporting to the Production Manager, the SMT Operator (Sun- Thurs -11pm- 7am) role involves being responsible for the set-up of SMT components. Adjusts the speed and temperature and makes other adjustments to accommodate varying types and sizes of products.

Requirements

Must be familiar with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) electronic components and SMT assembly process.
Must successfully complete solder training course (Flex provided).
Must be familiar with and able to use hand tools, screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, etc.
High School or GED degree.

Nice To Haves

Prior electronics experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Set-up of SMT components.
Adjusts the speed and temperature and makes other adjustments to accommodate varying types and sizes of products.
Set-up and operate automated SMT assembly equipment including Screen Printer, Glue Dispensing Machine, Pick and Place Machine, and Reflow Oven.
Properly clean boards.
Perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components.
Picks components and prepares kits for manufacturing.
Perform visual inspections of SMT assemblies.
Maintain accurate job tracking records.
Interpret IPC-A-610 standards for acceptability and customer specifications.
Use hand tools, screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, etc.
Maintain a neat appearance about self and work area.
Accountable for quality, quantity and inspection of work performed.
Practice safe work habits and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
Train co-workers and assist when problems arise.
