How you’ll contribute The General Tool (GT) Service Technician is all about producing strong and reliable tools to help our customers get the job done right. We actively listen to understand customer needs and show care and understanding to ensure a smooth experience. With safety at the forefront, we inspect, test, and service each piece of equipment with care and efficiently address issues. Responsibilities include: Ensure all equipment is rental ready by cleaning, checking, refueling, operating, and testing equipment. Understand and conduct the basic service requirements for all equipment including checking/gapping spark plugs, replacing air filters, checking recoils and ropes, greasing/lubricating bearings/joints, replacing/tensioning belts, etc. Effectively transfer product knowledge to customers including explaining features and benefits, safe operating techniques, and promoting related accessories and products. Service customer needs by demonstrating a thorough understanding of how our equipment exceeds, meets, or falls short in certain applications. Treat every customer in a fair and consistent manner, resolving issues as they arise. Work with the Parts Department to support in-store merchandising initiatives including pricing, parts and inventory stock, product placement, annual inventory initiatives, etc. Complete all work orders and related documentation on the service and maintenance of equipment to preserve the integrity of the rental management computer system. Participate in and ensure daily “COMPASS” is complete. Requirements

  • 1 year working with small engines, electrical repair, manual and power tools or similar experience
  • Valid G-Class Driver’s License with clean abstract.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
