Speech and Language Pathologist

Job Overview:
The Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) works to assess and support students with speech, language, and communication challenges. This role involves collaboration with teachers, parents, and other specialists to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support students' academic and social success.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
* Possession of a Speech Language and Hearing Disorders license issued through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
* State licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist or SLP Assistant.
* Experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred.
* Strong knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check (C.O.R.I.) and fingerprint check.
Reports to: Building Principal
Work Year: 184 days (school year)
Salary/Benefits: Per the negotiated PAT contract
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to identify student needs.
* Utilize standardized tests, observational techniques, and other diagnostic tools.
* Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals tailored to each student's needs.
* Provide direct and indirect therapy services in individual or group settings.
* Monitor and document students' progress toward IEP goals.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other specialists to integrate therapy goals into the classroom and home environments.
* Participate in IEP meetings, providing data-driven recommendations.
* Maintain accurate records of student progress and therapy sessions.
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district regulations regarding special education services.
* Prepare and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.

* Ability to work in a normal classroom, office and school building environment.
* Ability to move freely about the building to perform duties with staff.
* Capacity to engage in activities that may require lifting, bending, or other physical movements as needed.
* Ability to utilize computers and other administrative technologies appropriate to the position.
