About the position

The Development Student Ambassador position at Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) is a part-time role designed for current students to engage in development and philanthropic work. This program provides students with hands-on experience in various aspects of higher education, including donor relations, event planning, and outreach. The role emphasizes leadership development, communication skills, and collaboration with diverse populations, while also offering a scholarship to cover tuition and fees up to $2,500 per semester.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, coordinating, promoting, and supporting events and programs hosted by the Development office.
• Perform clerical functions such as data entry, case management, spreadsheets, and other tasks as assigned.
• Assist in outreach and follow-up of scholarship recipients.
• Complete delegated tasks by Development officers to meet various donor/staff needs.
• Assist Administrative assistant with other duties as assigned.
• Support events such as the Annual Scholarship Luncheon, board meetings, Giving Day activities, and events for the Center of Latin American Studies.
• Engage in and help plan special events and programming.

Requirements

• Current Salt Lake Community College Student
• Minimum 2.0 GPA
• Registered for 9.0 credit hours for Fall and Spring semesters
• Registered for 6.0 credit hours for the summer semester
• Participate in Campus Internship Program professional development activities
• Maintain 15-20 hours per week work schedule
• Fluent in Spanish
