About The Position

The Lead Carpenter is an experienced and trainable laborer skilled in multiple areas of residential and commercial rebuilding with experience in insurance restoration work. Must be able to communicate on a high level during the reconstruction process. This position reports directly to the Project Manager, DOO or VP. Individual should have a reliable truck and tools to complete work at a high skill level.

Requirements

3-5 years' experience as a skilled carpenter required.
Knowledge of carpentry and use of carpentry related hand and power tools.
Self-motivated.
Work in confined areas (crawl space)
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Communicate effectively in oral and written forms. Execute required paperwork.
Identify hazards in assigned work areas.
Work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
Meet mental and physical demands of the job.
Ability to work with people in a professional manner
Maintains a valid and current driver's license
Successfully pass a national criminal background check and motor vehicle report background check
Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a crew of carpenters and laborers
Delegate tasks and coordinate daily work activities
Maintain quality control and enforce safety standards
Serve as the point of contact between site workers and project managers
Troubleshoot issues and make on-the-job decisions
General carpentry -- residential and commercial.
Demolition
Tile Work
Hanging cabinets
Trim carpentry-baseboards
Door hanging and taping
Painting
Light electrical/plumbing
Rough framing consists of re-framing homes and setting trusses
