About the position
The Skilled Security Systems Installer is responsible for installing, programming, and maintaining integrated security systems for commercial customers. This role involves working directly on-site to ensure systems are set up correctly and function as intended, while also providing excellent customer service and support.
Responsibilities
- Install appropriate devices for integrated security systems.
- Dismantle and reconstruct equipment as required by customers.
- Work safely to avoid injuries and property damage.
- Contact customers to verify installation schedules.
- Prepare estimates as directed by the supervisor.
- Follow schematic wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
- Test system operations to establish service with the signal-receiving center.
- Read building, electrical, and sprinkler blueprints as needed.
- Coordinate installations with police/fire departments and manage necessary records.
- May manage installation teams on larger projects.
- Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Technical school training is a plus.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
- Experience operating hand and power tools.
- Ability to operate fleet vehicles safely.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
