About the position
The Skilled Laborer in Landscaping & Grounds at Oak Grove Racing & Gaming is responsible for maintaining and cleaning landscaping areas, ensuring guest satisfaction, and operating various equipment for grounds upkeep. This entry-level position requires physical labor and mechanical knowledge to support landscaping tasks and maintain safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain landscaping working areas and other job sites as needed.
- Perform grounds upkeep including grass cutting, weed eating, bush hogging, and planting of shrubs and trees.
- Provide guest service to ensure a favorable experience for guests.
- Ensure the safety and security of team members and guests.
- Facilitate processes to control and reduce lost time injuries.
- Operate small stationary equipment such as air compressors and concrete mixers.
- Operate heavy equipment including water trucks and skid loaders.
- Maintain and make minor repairs to a variety of equipment such as tractors and mowers.
- Assist skilled mechanics in mechanical work on machinery and building operations.
- Build and repair forms or structures using bricks, concrete, and stone.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- Mechanical knowledge and experience in horticulture and landscaping preferred.
- Strong communication skills.
