About the position

We are looking for a Sales Planner to join the SITKA Gear team. The Sales Planner will collaborate and coordinate planning activities for multi-channel businesses with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to achieve financial goals. This position will be located at our facility in Bozeman, Montana, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Create demand plans across categories that meet multi-channel revenue targets and internal and external KPIs through collaboration with sales, marketing, finance and product development teams
  • Build positive working relationships with key account buyers, merchandisers and sales leaders to strategically create plans that align with merchandising strategies and channel initiatives.
  • Build category plans specific to channels and accounts that leverage incremental opportunities and maximize sales, margin and inventory turn
  • Analyze store/account performance to help support business decisions and provide sales, marketing and financial guidance
  • Monitor in-season forecasts and replenishment needs to improve accuracy, inventory allocation and product/account sell-through
  • Identify in-season opportunities and risks through POS analysis and provide actionable recommendations to improve results
  • Play an integral role in the monthly S&OP process as a key participant in the multi-channel demand review
  • Champion the development and reporting of sales planning metrics and communicate impact to S&OP community
  • Create and maintain in-season sales forecast used to identify opportunities and risk to the seasonal plan including missed demand and marketing lift
  • Partner with Supply Chain Team to provide guidance regarding inbound receipt requirements to ensure optimal on-time delivery and channel in-stock positions

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in Supply Chain, business, or technical field AND minimum 3 years direct experience in sales/demand planning in a consumer goods company OR at least 5 years related experience in a consumer goods company in any of the following areas: Merchandise Planning, Assortment Planning, Account Buyer, Retail Planner
  • Deep expertise in retail math and application to Wholesale and Direct consumer brands
  • Experience in Sales & Operations Planning processes in the mid and long term horizons
  • Deep expertise in inventory management practices and procedures
  • Demonstrated experience working with Sales Teams to analyze point of sale information, industry trends and demand patterns to develop effective forecast models and produce accurate forecasts
  • Demonstrated experience implementing solutions that improved forecast accuracy
  • An understanding and appreciation for the brand
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop, communicate, influence and implement solutions both internal and with external suppliers in a global environment
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage initiatives
  • Ability to travel up to 5%

Nice-to-haves

  • Preference for apparel & footwear consumer goods experience
  • Proficiency in ERP (SAP, Oracle, etc.), Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Demand Planning software, BI Reporting Software, any programming work (SQL, python, R/S+)
  • APICS CPIM and/or APICS CSCP and Continuous Improvement certification
