About The Position
We are looking for a dynamic individual passionate about teaching for our after-school music program. Sistema Utah is partnered with American Preparatory Academy to offer music classes for free to under-resourced students. Patterned after the El Sistema movement that originated in Venezuela, it is our hope to empower our students for social change.
Requirements
- Proficiency in writing, math, and Google applications (docs, sheets, forms, etc.)
- Reliability, punctuality, and patience
- Effective communication skills
- Effective study skills and techniques
- High school or equivalent (Required)
Nice To Haves
- Bi-lingual preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Mentors assist elementary grades (2-6) students with most subjects in an after-school classroom setting.
- There are three periods daily, each 40 minutes in duration.
- Paid training begins Monday, August 12th, and the job goes through the end of May.
