About the position

The Simulation and Technology Manager at HCA Houston Healthcare is responsible for overseeing the operation of simulation and technology-based education within the Division Clinical Education Service Line. This role involves managing the simulation center, planning and implementing simulation-based learning, and ensuring adherence to standards of care to enhance patient safety and quality outcomes. The manager will work closely with the Director of Simulation and Technology to support innovations in education and healthcare, while fostering a culture of accountability and excellence in patient interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operation of simulation and technology-based education within the Division Clinical Education Service Line.
  • Oversee the simulation center and coordinate classroom events.
  • Plan, design, implement, and evaluate simulation-based learning programs.
  • Support the Director of Simulation and Technology in implementing emerging innovations in education and healthcare.
  • Ensure adherence to standards of care and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures in compliance with legal/regulatory standards.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and transparency in patient care.
  • Develop strategies to enhance patient experience and satisfaction.
  • Identify training needs and provide coaching and feedback to employees.
  • Attract, develop, engage, and retain talent within the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Education required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required if designated as an AHA training center.
  • 5+ years of experience in an acute care facility preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in education with simulation experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator preferred.
