About the position

We are looking for a motivated and flexible self-starter to join our Simulation team as a part-time Simulation and Learning Lab Tech on our Draper, UT Campus. Under the direction and supervision of the Simulation and Learning Labs Operations Manager, the individual will provide support for all simulation and learning lab operations for students to learn the different aspects of nursing at our Draper, Utah campus. This position may require some evenings and Saturday shifts and usually works between 20 and 29 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation and set up of nursing skills and simulation labs accurately and timely including equipment, manikin(s), moulage, manikin programming, audio/video functions for debrief and master control rooms and ensure the medication dispensing system is stocked for the correct client.
  • Provide technical assistance, support and training to faculty and students in the use of simulation and skills lab equipment, as necessary, including the medical supply room and computer-based media.
  • Support/assist in role playing applications by reading the full scenario, understand the scenario and ask questions for clarification, review set-up checklist, review verbal cues for understanding, manikin charging if needed.
  • Clean-up and reset simulation, skills labs, and debrief rooms including restocking of supply carts, task trainers, open/make up lab cart, medication carts, cleaning moulage from manikin(s), cleaning and rinsing all internal components, changing of linen, when needed, and wipe-down all surfaces.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment. Ensure that materials and equipment are received, updated, and are in good working condition, and strictly inventoried in the electronic inventory control system.
  • Support simulation activities by assisting simulation facilitators with multimedia systems, operation of all technical equipment, restocking and turnover between scenarios, and any details needed by simulation facilitators.
  • Attend and actively contribute to mandatory team and staff meeting, trainings, and other staff activities when not assisting in simulation or skills labs.
  • Sign off/complete assigned projects, including regular team updates and communication, within an assigned timeline.
  • Show a high degree of professionalism by collaborating with team members and members of other departments, clients, regular communication, following dress code, completing compliance trainings on time, and punctuality.
  • Take personal responsibility for own simulation schedule including tracking of hours worked in the week. This includes regularly checking timecard and communicating to the manager and lead any discrepancies within 24 hours of pay period closure.
  • Other general duties and functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • Required Education: High School Diploma
  • Preferred Experience: Experience in healthcare
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor Certification
  • Combination of education, training and/or experience which can be demonstrated to result in possession of the qualifications necessary to perform the duties of this position
