About the position
The Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) position at Soliant is a remote contracted role for the 2024-2025 school year, focusing on providing interpretation services for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students. The role involves facilitating effective communication in various educational settings and ensuring a positive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Interpret spoken language into American Sign Language and vice versa for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students.
- Provide support in classroom settings, meetings, and other school activities to ensure effective communication.
- Foster a positive learning environment for Deaf or hard-of-hearing students by facilitating communication and understanding.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the educational needs of the students are met.
Requirements
- Minimum 1+ years of interpreter experience required.
- EIPA Score 4.0 or higher OR National Interpreter Certification from the RID.
- Completed and passed EIPA written test.
Nice-to-haves
- School-based experience preferred but not required.
