About the position

The Siemens Gamesa Wind Turbine Troubleshooter position involves diagnosing and resolving issues with Siemens Gamesa turbines, specifically the G145 model. The role requires travel to various wind farm sites across the U.S. and Canada, where troubleshooters will work on hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal turbine operation. The position also includes leading small teams, maintaining safety standards, and documenting technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Identify common, recurring, and major component faults on Siemens G145 wind turbine generators.
• Travel to various wind farm sites across the U.S. and Canada for job assignments.
• Troubleshoot problems on systems including hydraulics, electrical, and mechanical to ensure operational functionality.
• Develop advanced troubleshooting knowledge and skills on-site in collaboration with other competent individuals.
• Lead small teams and be accountable for the safety, competency, and productivity of assigned individuals.
• Keep records, maintain documentation, and report technical and safety issues as required by company policy.
• Maintain and follow safety procedures as required by company policy.
• Assist or perform component replacement, retrofits, and other special assignments.
• Continue to develop and expand wind maintenance skillset through on-the-job training and train others in performing service work.

Requirements

• 3+ years of successful experience troubleshooting Siemens Gamesa G114, G126, G132, SG145 or Vestas 3.X or 4.X wind turbines.
• Valid passport for travel to and work in Canada for extended periods.
• Ability to work an 8-week on, 1 week off rotation.
• Physically able to safely climb wind turbines up to 90m+ (300+ feet) and meet the physical demands of the position.
• Solid knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Maintenance experience, including knowledge of using grease guns, filter changes, and similar service tasks.
• Valid and current driving license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Must be 21 years of age to drive a company vehicle.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Satisfactory criminal background check.
• GWO BST (Basic Safety Training) certification.
• GWO BTT (Basic Technical Training) certification.
• SGRE Basic Technician Training/Troubleshooter certified (Family 3 preferred).
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification.
