About the position

The Shuttle Driver will be responsible for safely operating a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations. The primary assignment involves local shuttle services of refrigerated and dry trailers/loads between customer locations and company facilities. The driver will work a regular 12-hour shift on a 14-day rotating schedule, which includes working every other weekend and possibly on minor holidays to align with customer work hours. The role requires effective communication regarding the condition of company trucks and trailers, adherence to safety regulations, and fostering positive relationships with customers and staff. The driver must be flexible and open to a variety of assignments while on duty, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate assigned commercial motor vehicle in compliance with all laws and regulations.
  • Transport refrigerated and dry trailers/loads between customer locations and company facilities.
  • Work a regular 12-hour shift on a 14-day rotating schedule, including every other weekend.
  • Communicate issues related to the condition of company trucks and trailers.
  • Complete and maintain required paperwork, log books, and shipping documents accurately.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations at all times.
  • Foster positive relationships with customers and the general public.
  • Be flexible and open to a wide range of assignments while on duty.
  • Perform all duties in a manner that promotes the company's growth and success.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum high school degree preferred.
  • Current CDL-A with an acceptable driving record.
  • Current Medical Examiners Certificate.
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 75 pounds at shoulder height.
  • Ability to read and write well enough to complete required documentation and understand road signs.
  • Ability to enter and exit truck cab safely and repeatedly.
  • Ability to crank landing gear, operate 5th wheel release, and connect air/electrical lines.
  • Ability to secure loads using provided straps and equipment.
  • Ability to open and close trailer and shipping container doors weighing between 120 to 350 lbs.
  • Pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical are required.
