About the position

The Dairy Clerk at ShopRite is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience in the Dairy Department. This role involves pricing, stocking, and rotating merchandise while maintaining a clean and visually appealing environment. The Dairy Clerk will also perform various tasks efficiently and safely, adhering to company policies and service priorities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a great customer experience in the Dairy Department.
• Price, stock, and rotate merchandise in the Dairy Department.
• Maintain a clean, neat, organized, and safe work environment.
• Clean and sanitize work surfaces, utensils, and equipment according to standards.
• Lift, pull, push, and rotate merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Unload trucks and transport merchandise to the Dairy Department.
• Stand in designated work area for the duration of the scheduled shift, which may exceed 8 hours.
• Perform duties in accordance with Local, State, and Federal regulations.
• Greet customers and provide prompt, courteous service and assistance.
• Assist the Dairy Manager as needed.
• Price items accurately using approved price marking devices.
• Ensure featured sale merchandise is attractively signed to stimulate sales.
• Maintain Unit Price Labels (Tags) for all items and perform price changes as required.
• Check prices and be knowledgeable about the location of items in the store.
• Validate deliveries to invoice documents and utilize the receiving log.
• Fully stock and rotate all Dairy merchandise according to department standards.
• Block and face all products in accordance with company policy.
• Monitor temperatures and operating conditions of refrigerated storage areas.
• Utilize CGO to maintain and order merchandise to keep product in stock.
• Report any equipment problems immediately and maintain required communication within the department.

Requirements

• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Ability to stand and walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull, and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and with various food products without negative allergic consequences.
• Ability to climb a ladder to retrieve items from overhead racking and storage areas.
• Ability to work in refrigerated coolers and high moisture rooms for extended periods.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Ability to interact with customers in a friendly and helpful way.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to work all assigned work schedules and comply with all time and attendance policies.
