About the position

The Shipping Specialist position at Merit Brass Company involves processing and packaging customer orders, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining customer satisfaction. This role is essential for supporting shipping functions and requires attention to detail and the ability to operate various material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Process and package customer orders per written procedures and work instructions for UPS and Truck orders.
• Accurately pick product using RF scanning equipment.
• Assist in all activities that support shipping functions, ensuring on-time delivery of products and customer satisfaction.
• Record information for shipping and receiving into data collection systems.
• Process the required amount of daily orders/jobs in a timely manner.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• No High School Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to perform basic high school reading, writing, and mathematical skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Must be able to stand, reach, bend, push, and pull bulky material for the entire shift and capable of lifting 50-70 lbs frequently.
• Must be able to operate all Powered Industrial Equipment (PIE) including pallet jacks, stand-up tow motors, cherry pickers, and WAVE machines by adhering to safety procedures.
• Ability to learn basic computer functions, bar code scanning, and operation of material handling equipment.
• Basic computer skills, including operation, inquiry, and alphanumeric entry via keyboard and/or bar code scanning.
