About the position
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist at States Manufacturing Corporation is responsible for managing the logistics of outgoing and incoming shipments. This role involves tracking inventory, preparing necessary documentation, and ensuring that shipments meet customer requirements. The specialist will also be involved in packaging, labeling, and inspecting goods to maintain quality and efficiency in the shipping process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare outgoing shipments and receive incoming shipments.
- Track inventory and maintain accurate records of packaging and weighing items.
- Develop shippers and print shipping labels.
- Inspect goods and distribute products to other departments.
- Prepare required paperwork and package parts appropriately.
- Use the correct shipping method to ship parts to customers.
- Reference the Customer Requirements Book and customer purchase orders.
- Check the current delivery schedule and ship parts to meet customer requirements.
- Create and print packing lists and assemble required documentation.
- Arrange shipping methods as necessary and disposition completed paperwork.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Forklift experience.
- MRP and inventory system knowledge.
- Experience with BOM and cycle counting.
- Epicor experience.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous shipping or precision machining job shop experience.
