About The Position

Avery Dennison Corporation is seeking a Shipping & Logistics Operations Specialist for their Greenfield, IN facility. This role is for individuals who are mechanically curious, take ownership of their equipment, and thrive in a performance-driven culture. The facility is located in the Greenfield industrial corridor, offering a streamlined commute for those coming from East Indianapolis, Shelbyville, or Anderson. The position involves a 12-hour shift schedule with a 2-2-3 rotation, working approximately 15 days per month, and includes a night shift differential.

Requirements

  • A "mechanically curious" mindset.
  • Comfort navigating computer-based inventory systems.
  • Physical agility to load/unload trucks.
  • Technical skill to operate specialized yard equipment.
  • Commitment to safety and quality.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) or 3+ years of relevant manufacturing work experience.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instruction.
  • Ability to prioritize safety in every aspect of the working environment adhering to established safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, including short-notice requests.
  • Ability to obtain Forklift Operator’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Oracle experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Arrange freight pick-ups and communicate status to stakeholders.
  • Partner with transportation groups to exceed customer expectations.
  • Ship and receive materials using Oracle and MES, ensuring digital capture of all receipts and movements.
  • Generate and manage critical shipping documents, including Bills of Lading (BOL), packing lists, and customer sales orders.
  • Operate the "yard dog" to move trailers safely and efficiently between dock doors.
  • Lead inventory audits.
  • Manage the end-to-end returns process.
  • Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) standards are strictly maintained.
  • Participate in daily improvement (MDI) meetings.
  • Step up as a backup Team Leader when needed.
