About the position
The Shipping Lead is responsible for guiding the shipping workforce and processes to ensure the safe and efficient handling of products and materials at Oldcastle Infrastructure. This role involves leading a shipping team to achieve productivity, safety, and quality goals in a manufacturing environment, particularly during the 2nd shift from 2pm to 10:30pm, Monday to Friday.
Responsibilities
- Load and/or unload trucks
- Create Bills of Lading for outgoing shipments
- Use the Open Order Report in NetSuite to generate pick tickets to plan shipments
- Assign Shipping employees to pick tickets
- Communicate with trucking companies to schedule pick-up and delivery
- Assist with pulling orders, including locating, transporting and verifying the appropriate product number and amount according to pick ticket, and scanning product from staging to finished goods
- Maintain organization of the shipping and receiving docks
- Ensure effective communication across all shifts
- Other responsibilities may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong planning and analytical skills, detail-oriented
- Computer skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems (NetSuite a plus)
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. periodically throughout the day
