About the position

We are seeking an experienced Shipping Associate preferably with expertise in international shipping to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for verifying and maintaining accurate records of outgoing international shipments, preparing orders for shipment, and ensuring compliance with all export regulations. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can effectively manage shipping operations.

Responsibilities

  • Identify orders to print and ship daily.
  • Pick, pack, and ship orders according to customer specifications.
  • Communicate with internal teams (e.g., customer service) and external parties, including freight forwarders and shipping carriers.
  • Conduct a final examination of outgoing shipments to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory specifications.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operate tier lift trucks or use hand trucks to move shipments as needed.
  • Handle additional responsibilities, such as domestic shipping, inbound receipt of materials, and cycle counting.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in international shipping is preferred.
  • Familiarity with export compliance, commercial invoicing, AES/EEI filing, and international shipping processes (FedEx, UPS, DHL).
  • Knowledge of working with freight forwarders, harmonized codes, and other aspects of global logistics.
  • Proficiency with Internet shipping software, inventory software, and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with JD Edwards is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented team player capable of working independently or with minimal supervision.

Nice-to-haves

  • Dangerous goods shipping experience is preferred but not required.
