About the position

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the flow of goods in and out of the warehouse. This role involves preparing outgoing shipments, receiving incoming shipments, and maintaining organized inventory to ensure efficient operations. The clerk will also handle documentation related to shipments and address any issues that arise during the shipping process.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and process product orders, including receiving deliveries and distributing packages within the company.
• Maintain the company stockroom by organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items regularly.
• Schedule large shipments and plan logistics to ensure sufficient storage space and staff availability.
• Keep files of goods shipped and received by preparing regular shipping and receiving reports for managers.
• Handle issues arising in shipping or inventory handling.
• Ensure adherence to environmental management systems.
• Troubleshoot shipping issues and customer complaints, working to resolve them.
• Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by packaging and lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods.

Requirements

• Experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role.
• Ability to operate forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve shipping issues effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with inventory management systems.
• Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting.
