About the position

This position is responsible for opening and closing the store in the absence of management, ensuring operational readiness, and delivering exceptional customer service. The role involves cash handling, inventory management, and assisting with training and development of team members. The individual will engage with customers, resolve issues, and maintain compliance with company policies and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Open and close the store in the absence of management, including all required systems start-ups and cash handling.
  • Ensure the store floor and stock room are ready for business each day.
  • Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Hold store keys and assist with vendor deliveries by opening the back door.
  • Register all sales on assigned cash register and maintain accurate records of transactions.
  • Assist in evaluating and developing store displays and promotional materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure compliance with pricing regulations.
  • Assist with bookkeeping activities, including cash reports and ledgers.
  • Ensure the store is clean and orderly, requesting repairs as needed.
  • Assist with stock rotation and compliance with food safety policies.
  • Serve as a liaison between management and team members when management is absent.

Requirements

  • One year of prior leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder work experience.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
