About the position

The Shift Lead at Border Foods plays a crucial role in managing the restaurant's operations while embodying the company's core values of Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment. The Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing team performance, ensuring quality service, and maintaining health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce Border Foods CORE values including Accountability, Integrity, Family, Excellence, Teamwork, and Empowerment.
• Guide team members to complete assigned duties and serve safe, quality food in a friendly manner.
• Schedule and deploy the team effectively to meet operational needs.
• Monitor team performance and hold members accountable for standards and expectations.
• Ensure a quality customer experience by driving fast and friendly service.
• Maintain point of sale system and report any system failures.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and local laws.
• Create unity within the team and resolve employee issues in a timely manner.
• Motivate and support the team through effective communication and active listening.
• Handle customer complaints and issues with a sincere approach to find effective solutions.
• Develop short-term and long-term strategies for restaurant success.
• Utilize and interpret P&L to make financial adjustments for profit delivery.
• Source, hire, and develop excellent team members, conducting new hire orientation and training plans.
• Minimize loss through adherence to cash handling policies and training of team members.
• Provide learning and development opportunities for all team members.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
