Responsibilities

  • Drive shift performance in EH&S, production throughput, housekeeping, daily task completion, hazard identification/reporting/remediation/escalation.
  • Lead operators and contractors to ensure that shift meets business, site, and unit objectives.
  • Serve as activity coordinators and gatekeepers during off hours.
  • Ensure shift compliance with all relevant safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure shift operators are aware of, and meet, shift expected performance targets and deliverables.
  • Assign duties to specific employees based on knowledge, competencies, and qualifications.
  • Step in to perform and assist with shift tasks as appropriate to meet shift expectations.
  • Be the main point of communication to leadership and a liaison between Operators, Production Engineers, and Operations Leader.
  • Train and develop operators according to individual training plans.
  • Monitor attendance, tardiness, and time-off and escalate as appropriate.
  • Resolve on-shift conflicts and teach conflict resolution skills.
  • Adhere to company policies, EH&S, process safety, and employment standards and escalate as needed.
  • Initiate incident investigations and implement corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Lead, facilitate, and assist with simple problem-solving and more formal Root Cause analyses efforts.
  • Ensure effective shift relief.
  • Coach and share feedback with operators, leadership and team members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 or more years of experience as an operator
  • Excellent communication skills both written and interpersonal.
  • Willing to complete a Lubrizol leadership development training program.
