About the position

H&A Metals is seeking skilled Sheet Metal Mechanics and helpers to join their team in Beverly Hills, CA. The role primarily involves the installation of sheet metal products and structures in residential and commercial projects, particularly in the West LA, Hollywood Hills, and Malibu areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, the ability to read schematics, and a commitment to quality and safety in their work.

Responsibilities

• Install sheet metal parts such as standing seam roofs, flashing, door and window pans, coping caps, gutters, and downspouts with limited supervision.
• Fabricate and assemble sheet metal components according to specifications in the shop.
• Utilize hand tools and machinery for cutting, shaping, and joining sheet metal materials.
• Install fixtures and other components as required in construction projects.
• Potentially supervise a helper or lead a small team depending on experience and company needs.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience installing sheet metal on residential projects in the Los Angeles area.
• 1+ year of experience fabricating architectural sheet metal parts.
• Ability to safely operate all common sheet metal fabrication and installation tools, such as shears, brakes, pliers, grinders, soldering rigs, etc.
• Proficient in reading schematics and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with metal finishing is a plus.
• Background in other construction trades or metal fabrication techniques such as welding or machining is a plus.
• Experience as a lead person or supervising a helper is a plus.
