Requirements

  • Proven experience as a sewing trainer or professional tailor/seamstress.
  • In-depth knowledge of sewing techniques, fabrics, and garment construction.
  • Experience working with domestic and industrial sewing machines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Patience, creativity, and passion for teaching.
  • Ability to create an encouraging, positive learning environment.
  • Enjoy hands-on work with machines and tools.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct hands-on sewing training sessions for beginners, intermediates, and advanced learners.
  • Demonstrate various sewing techniques including stitching, pattern drafting, cutting, and finishing.
  • Train students in the use and maintenance of different types of sewing machines and equipment.
  • Develop training materials, lesson plans, and projects tailored to skill levels.
  • Monitor trainee progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed in the training environment.
