Sewing Operator
About The Position
The Sewing Machine Operator I is responsible for operating and maintaining sewing machines to perform advanced garment sewing operations. This role ensures efficient and precise sewing of various fabric and textile materials, contributing to the production of high-quality products and leading efforts to optimize production processes. The Sewing Machine Operator reports to the Production Supervisor or Manufacturing Manager and collaborates closely with Quality Control Inspectors and Production Planners. They provide mentorship and guidance to entry-level and intermediate sewing machine operators.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification preferred.
- Proven experience as a Sewing Machine Operator or similar role, preferably in an industrial setting.
- Familiarity with various types of sewing machines and different fabric/textile materials.
- An acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience will be considered.
- Advanced proficiency in operating sewing machines and understanding of sewing techniques.
- Comprehensive knowledge of different fabric types and their properties.
- Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to troubleshoot complex sewing machine issues and perform advanced maintenance tasks.
- Ability to meet production targets while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Leadership skills to mentor and guide less experienced operators.
