About the position

The Service Writer position at our leading independent auto repair shop involves serving as a primary point of contact for customers, writing service orders, and coordinating with ASE Certified Master Technicians. The role requires a friendly demeanor, strong customer service skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. The Service Writer will work full-time, five days a week, and is expected to handle various responsibilities including customer interactions, parts ordering, and service recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Open and close the service desk.
• Greet customers in a friendly manner.
• Establish relationships with customers.
• Write up service orders for customers.
• Arrange shuttle pick-up for customers.
• Look up labor and parts for service.
• Recommend needed repairs to customers.
• Close out customer transactions.
• Handle returns and customer service issues.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a professional service writer.
• Ability to sell value and not just take orders.
• Must be able to multi-task effectively.
• Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
• Reliable with a clean driving record.
• Clean cut appearance is required.
