Under direct supervision, the Mechanical or Gearbox Technician repairs, services, and builds standard and custom systems for hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems. This role involves performing maintenance on assigned customer products that come through the service shop, including disassembling, cleaning, and inspecting system components for repair. The technician will diagnose system components, recommend solutions to customers, and prepare job forms detailing necessary parts and labor. Responsibilities also include designing, fabricating, machining, and welding parts and components, as well as repairing hydraulic, fluid power, electrical, and mechanical systems. The role requires assembling new and repaired equipment, testing repaired equipment for performance, and preparing it for shipment or storage. Additionally, the technician will assist customers by answering technical questions and may provide quotes or take customer orders. Other related duties as assigned.
