About the position

The Service Technician role at Service Experts involves performing diagnostic and service work on residential and light commercial HVAC equipment. The technician will work under minimal supervision, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution. Responsibilities

  • Perform residential and/or light commercial service and maintenance calls under minimal supervision.
  • Analyze, diagnose, and resolve customer problems in a courteous and timely manner.
  • Diagnose and perform services on heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment.
  • Inspect equipment and perform diagnostics to identify potential problems.
  • Complete routine maintenance and equipment cleaning as needed.
  • Deliver and remove parts and equipment needed for service work.
  • Record all required information on customer calls using a hand-held device.
  • Complete all forms and paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collect payment from customers and communicate with dispatch regarding status reports.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Promote products and services to customers and generate sales leads.
  • Ensure company property, vehicles, and tools are maintained and accounted for.
  • Represent the company professionally and ethically in all business matters.
  • Follow standard procedures and ensure company vehicle is properly stocked.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with additional training and 8+ years' experience in HVAC with technical training certification required.
  • Valid licensing or certification as required by federal, state, or local laws for the geographical work area.
  • EPA and safety certifications required.
  • Skilled at servicing heating, air conditioning, and ventilation equipment.
  • Proficient mechanical aptitude and ability to operate necessary tools and equipment.
  • Proficient at reading wiring diagrams and troubleshooting HVAC systems.
  • Ability to start up and balance airflow and align belts and pulleys with little supervision.
  • Proficient at installing basic duct fittings and troubleshooting electronic air cleaners and refrigeration systems.
  • Effective communication skills to resolve customer issues and complaints.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed.
