About the position

The Service Manager at JLG, an Oshkosh company, is responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating operations to ensure high levels of customer, employee, and shareholder satisfaction. This role leads the operations functions for Service and Reset at the Everett, PA facility, focusing on monitoring production status, labor, expenses, and ensuring compliance with safety and production standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor operation/production status, labor, and expenses.
  • Ensure key measurements such as safety, production schedules, goals, and budgets are established and achieved.
  • Administer and monitor operations activities in compliance with key measurements.
  • Devise strategic plans to anticipate business opportunities and technological changes.
  • Procure and justify capital budget to realize sound investments and high returns.
  • Promote and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Hold team members accountable to develop and implement robust processes to improve quality and productivity.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and review individual performance of employees.
  • Appraise employee performance to ensure success and positive attitudes.
  • Oversee daily/weekly production, staff, business unit, and CIP meetings.
  • Prepare relevant business topics and plans for execution ahead of meetings.
  • Manage shop and mobile technicians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, automotive technical, mechanical engineering, or related field; or 4 years professional experience in a related field.
  • A minimum of 7 years relevant experience in a leadership role.

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions, problem-solve, and evaluate information.
  • Good organization and planning skills.
  • Experience with dispatching process, managing tech utilization, ensuring quality techs via VOC and KPI's.
