About the position
The Facilities Maintenance Technician at Freeport-McMoRan is responsible for performing a variety of semi-skilled and skilled tasks related to the maintenance and repair of company-owned facilities, including residential homes, a golf course, and associated buildings. This role encompasses plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, landscaping, and equipment maintenance, ensuring that all facilities are well-maintained and operational. The technician will also handle irrigation installation and repair, create maintenance schedules, and respond to customer requests regarding building and grounds needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform facilities maintenance tasks including plumbing, carpentry, painting, masonry, and landscaping.
- Maintain and repair company-owned residential homes and buildings, as well as the golf course and associated facilities.
- Install and repair irrigation systems for residential homes and the community golf course.
- Create schedules and perform preventative maintenance on properties and equipment, including golf course greens.
- Measure green speed and interpret results to influence greens keeping activities.
- Respond to internal and external customer requests regarding building and grounds needs.
Requirements
- One (1) year experience in commercial or residential facilities maintenance and repair or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge and skill using general construction tools and equipment.
- Knowledge and experience of golf course maintenance, including greens keeping and fertilization.
- Ability to use power-driven equipment such as assorted mowers for maintaining golf courses.
- Knowledge of general HVAC, plumbing, irrigation, and sprinkler systems.
- Ability to calculate greens speed and plan and organize time effectively.
- Ability to understand, communicate, and apply instructions verbally and in writing.
