About the position

The Service Deli Coordinator is responsible for teaching and providing efficient and courteous service to Food City shoppers. This role involves supervising, training, and developing qualified Service Deli associates, managing them to maximize sales and profitability, and assisting in the management of labor and work schedules. The coordinator will also input to performance reviews for Service Deli associates, merchandise Service Deli cases, and assist with ordering and maintaining inventory according to the department's needs. Responsibilities include receiving and rotating all products ordered, maintaining proper pricing, and ensuring a clean department according to company standards. The coordinator will enforce and maintain all safety policies and procedures, promote sales through active and passive sampling, and implement training on recipes according to company standards. Additionally, the coordinator is responsible for maintaining all departmental paperwork, ensuring quality and freshness of products, reporting equipment maintenance issues, and upholding company health, safety, and HAACP programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with ordering and maintaining inventory of Service Deli and supporting merchandise
  • Responsible for receiving and rotation of all products ordered
  • Maintain proper pricing of all products
  • Maintain a clean department according to company standards
  • Enforce and maintain all safety policies and procedures
  • Promote sales and merchandise using active and passive sampling, announcements, and demos
  • Implement and train Service Deli Helpers on recipes according to company standards
  • Implement all local, state, and federal regulations including weights and measures
  • Maintain all departmental paperwork and keep accurate records
  • Responsible for all ad products during ad period and follow all sales and ad plans
  • Responsible for quality and freshness of all products
  • Report equipment maintenance issues promptly
  • Enforce and maintain company health, safety, and HAACP programs
  • Responsible for training, safety, and upkeep of all company slicers
  • Clean and maintain the deli case
  • Responsible for setting and maintaining the proper planogram
  • Additional job duties may be assigned as needed

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Food Service experience a plus, but not required
  • Ability to meet standard Physical, Mental, and Visual demands
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and/or written instructions
  • Ability to perform routine and repetitive tasks
  • Ability to have constant contact/interaction with various levels of individuals on a daily basis
  • Ability to attend on-site work during scheduled shifts
