About the position

We are seeking a Sensor Applications Technician to support our engine test instrumentation efforts in East Hartford, CT. This hands-on, full-time role involves working closely with engineering teams to procure, fabricate, install, and verify instrumentation across multiple engine programs. Ideal candidates will bring strong technical skills and a collaborative mindset in a fast-paced testing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Install and verify test sensors, including pressure transducers, thermocouples, accelerometers, load cells, and strain gauges (Dynamic/Static/Combo)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, test procedures, and electrical schematics
  • Apply adhesives and mechanical methods to secure instrumentation at precise locations
  • Perform wiring, soldering, connector termination, and engine dress work per established procedures
  • Collaborate with Test and Sensor Applications Engineering for troubleshooting and checkout
  • Use tools and equipment such as soldering irons, wire crimpers, multimeters, tack/water welders, and heat guns
  • Participate in internal and customer meetings
  • Provide technical guidance and training to new hire technicians
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts for quality and efficiency
  • Overtime, weekend, and holiday work may be required

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Experience with test instrumentation installation
  • Proficiency with common shop tools and electrical equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Familiarity with basic engineering and test principles

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with high and low temperature strain gauge installation
  • Background in aerospace or engine testing environments
  • Knowledge of adhesive bonding techniques and electrical wiring best practices
