About The Position

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior Windows System Administrator to support a major national laboratory. This role involves monitoring, maintaining, and repairing physical and virtual server systems, resolving technical issues, and applying patches and configuration changes. The administrator will also perform system capacity analysis, assist users, develop documentation and automation scripts, and collaborate with various stakeholders to optimize systems and contribute to process improvements.

Requirements

  • BS in relevant discipline plus 2 years or directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job
  • Active DOE Security Clearance
  • US Citizen
  • Windows System Administration in a corporate environment
  • Experience with Server builds/rebuilds for networked and standalone environments
  • Ability to research, assemble, and evaluate information or data regarding industry practices or applicable regulatory changes and recommend sound, practical solutions to complex issues
  • Ability to create and maintain process and procedure documentation, to include but not limited to user instructions, job aides, checklists, etc.
  • Proficiency in Firewall technology & management of private LANs/networks
  • Proficiency with Network protocols and network management technologies
  • Experience in adherence to policies, such as Cyber Security, Information Protection, Safety and Security policies for the work performed

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, maintain, and repair physical and virtual server systems.
  • Resolve technical issues affecting hardware, operating systems, or applications.
  • Apply operating system or application patches, install or replace hardware, and implement configuration changes to improve or restore system performance.
  • Perform system capacity analysis and planning.
  • Assist users in accessing and using business systems.
  • Develop instructions and procedures for system maintenance, create scripts to automate monitoring and repair tasks, and conduct quality assurance checks.
  • Collaborate with customers, subject matter experts, and architects to analyze, evaluate, and optimize systems.
  • Contribute to process development and system improvement efforts.
