The candidate is responsible for provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software related to a Windows infrastructure for classified programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, server management (software and hardware); storage management (logical and physical); cross platform authentication and access management; data backup and restoration; software and license configuration; and workstation support.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain operational support for software applications and hardware platforms: Analyze, test, troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues
  • Provide technical assistance to users and excellent customer care
  • Apply hardening security settings
  • Active Directory Object Management (i.e. User, computer, groups)
  • Manage NTFS and share permissions
  • Identify, analyze and remediate technical challenges
  • Administer backups, diagnose and remediate backup errors
  • Partner with application/project/security/program teams and third-party vendors to plan, design, and implement new information technology infrastructure
  • Manage client agents for server monitoring as well as agents for server management
  • Create and maintain technical and process documentation

Requirements

  • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
  • 2+ years of experience supporting Microsoft Windows desktops (e.g. Windows 10 and Windows 11)
  • Experience deploying Windows workstations and migrating end-user data

Nice-to-haves

  • Active Secret security clearance preferred.
  • Experience with cloning techniques
  • Experience with operating system concepts and implementations
  • Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (e.g. user and computer objects administration, Group Policy)
  • Experience with network services as related to Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. DC, DNS, DHCP, etc)
  • Experience with supporting desktop / workstation hardware and software
  • Experience with an IT incident/service request system
  • Bitlocker experience
  • Windows command line and related utilities
  • Experience with server, tape library, and storage platforms
  • Practical knowledge of server virtualization (e.g. ESXi) platforms
  • Automation via scripting
  • Experience with the following Microsoft technologies: MDT/MECM and WSUS
  • Experience with engineering applications such as MatLab, Green Hills Software, Doors, and Atlassian Suite
  • CompTIA Security+ certification or other industry-recognized certifications relevant to a Windows System Administrator
