About the position
The Digital Health Team at Samsung is focused on empowering individuals to lead healthier lives through innovative digital health products and solutions. This position serves as a lead for the design group within the larger UX team, ensuring high-quality design deliverables that meet the expectations of various stakeholders. The role involves collaboration with a cross-disciplinary team to develop health applications from concept to launch, utilizing design thinking and industry-standard tools.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design group as part of the larger UX team.
- Work with the UX team manager to prioritize design work and allocate resources effectively.
- Provide timely feedback to ensure high-quality designs and set realistic milestones for deliverables.
- Help the design team create intuitive and creative solutions for complex design challenges.
- Advocate for an iterative approach to product development within the UX team.
- Contribute to the interaction and visual design of Samsung's product language and patterns.
- Engage in individual design work as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master's preferred in a related field or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience in product design for consumer applications.
- Previous experience in managing or mentoring design teams.
- Strong visual design skills and an online portfolio showcasing end-to-end design involvement.
- Proficiency in design and prototype tools such as Sketch, Figma, and Invision.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in building smartwatch and mobile phone applications.
- Familiarity with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD).
- Direct experience in building and scaling design systems and guidelines.
- Skills in motion and animation design.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including Engineering and Product Management.
- Knowledge of accessibility design principles.
