About the position

The Senior Universal Banker at Hancock Bank is responsible for acquiring, managing, and retaining client relationships through a consultative sales and service approach. This role focuses on understanding clients' financial needs and providing tailored solutions, while also educating clients on various banking services and technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Manage existing clients and prospects by meeting with them in person and over the phone to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Proactively educate clients on alternate delivery methods and channels, including mobile, online, and ATM options.
  • Refer clients to other business partners for specialized financial needs.
  • Apply product and procedural knowledge to solve client problems efficiently.
  • Process a variety of routine and complex transactions for Financial Center clients.
  • Engage in client and/or prospect management activities and drive proactive sales conversations.
  • Identify and act upon sales opportunities to build a strong pipeline of appointments.
  • Leverage ecosystem partnerships and community centers of influence to acquire and retain relationships.
  • Assist in managing the lobby by engaging, greeting, and directing client traffic.
  • Support the Bank's risk management culture through awareness and sound decision-making.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 2 years of sales and client service experience in a professional environment; banking experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable banking products and regulations.
  • Proficiency in operating multiple banking systems and applications.
  • National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration required under the SAFE Act of 2008.
  • State Life & Health Insurance licenses preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a retail or financial institution with cash handling and customer service.
  • Strong follow-up skills and ability to work in a team environment.
