About the position

This position is a key role within the Transmission group at Avangrid Renewables, reporting to the Director of Transmission and Interconnection. The primary responsibility is to assist in creating value for the organization by securing interconnection agreements and developing strategies related to interconnections, particularly within the PJM, NYISO, or ISONE regions. The Analyst will manage a portfolio of interconnection queue requests and oversee the interconnection process from submission to construction, supporting renewable projects and the development pipeline.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Interconnection in securing interconnection agreements and developing strategies.
• Manage a portfolio of interconnection queue requests from submission to construction.
• Coordinate with various groups (Origination, Development, Asset Management, and Policy) to enhance project value.
• Research and secure interconnection options for greenfield wind or solar sites.
• Coordinate the siting of interconnection and transmission facilities in collaboration with Construction and Operations groups.
• Oversee and manage technical screening studies to determine interconnection feasibility.
• Review and coordinate the execution of LGIP-related agreements.
• Build and manipulate data utilizing ESRI.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in engineering, business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of industry experience in generation development, interconnections, transmission planning, or utility operations.
• Technical background in electrical engineering, transmission, or generation development.
• Good commercial experience, not solely technical expertise.
• Experience interfacing with Transmission Owners (TO) and Independent System Operators (ISOs) on generation interconnections.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience and transmission system knowledge of PJM, NYISO, or ISONE.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.
• Ability to travel for site prospecting and project development activities.
