About the position

Come join us in Amazon Software Builder Experience, in making Amazon developers more efficient. The AWS Builder Tools Software Assurance and Curation org is looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to help us in our mission to make developers focus on coding, and making their life easier with an automated software patching support. As a Sr. TPM, you will own the delivery of the open source 3PSW upgrade strategy in Amazon. You will work on projects like below: Provide a safe and easy way to perform software upgrade at scale for Amazon developers. Devise the short term program plans and long term strategy for 3PSW upgrades across Amazon partnering with open source community and language/subject experts inside Amazon.

Responsibilities

  • Be a mission-critical member of the leadership team, unify distributed engineering efforts and own the plan to deliver high-profile new tools and features for developers that build AWS and Amazon.com.
  • Lead strategic initiatives across many Amazon teams that will provide developers with high-impact improvements.
  • Draw on your knowledge of software development to hold a high standard of excellence for the developer experience.
  • Drive technical requirements, design, and delivery planning, working across engineering teams and stakeholders to ensure successful launch of initiatives.
  • Enable transparency and decision-making across AWS executive leadership by providing critical communication and clear status of the initiatives you own.
  • Apply your expertise, problem solving skills, and creativity to add value and diversity of thought to our team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
  • 3+ years of software development experience
  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
