About the position

The Senior Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) for Cardiovascular Community at Bristol Myers Squibb plays a critical role in engaging Health Care Providers (HCPs) to drive the adoption of BMS medicines. This field-based position focuses on building strong professional relationships with regional thought leaders and community-based physicians, ensuring a high-quality customer experience through scientific dialogue and collaboration. The TAS is responsible for promoting BMS products, maintaining scientific expertise, and working cross-functionally to meet HCP needs while achieving business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Promotes approved indications of BMS products within a defined territory to meet or exceed assigned sales targets in a compliant manner.
  • Creates demand for BMS medicines by articulating the clinical and scientific rationale for use in appropriate patients.
  • Engages with HCPs to maintain a high level of scientific expertise in all assigned products and therapeutic areas.
  • Prepares and implements comprehensive territory and account plans.
  • Uses available tools to derive insights and inform call plans, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates scientific expertise in presenting information to HCPs, ensuring medical accuracy.
  • Conducts in-office presentations and organizes external speaker programs.
  • Collaborates with other field teams to ensure the best customer experience for HCPs.
  • Gathers and shares relevant insights internally to better serve customers.
  • Complies with all laws, regulations, and policies governing BMS conduct.

Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree and/or 5+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience in healthcare sales, MSL, HCP, or nursing.
  • Ability to communicate scientific or clinical data accurately to help physicians serve their patients.
  • Experience building and maintaining credibility with key customers and office staff.
  • Experience in cardiovascular field required.
  • Strong account management skills and proven sales performance track record.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with a positive team mindset.
