About the position

CGI Federal is currently looking for a Tech Writer/Document Manager with active Top-Secret clearance to support a large project for a federal government client. The Tech Writer will have the opportunity to work in an agile environment, utilizing a variety of skills and languages in a fast-paced, cutting-edge setting where their input can enhance processes and team interactions. This position will be based in Washington, DC area.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including standard operating procedures, user instruction, technical specifications, and/or API documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and business process re-engineering teams for accurate and up-to-date documentation.
  • Communicate complex financial or technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers.
  • Document integration processes and procedures.
  • Organize material and complete writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
  • Recommend improvements in standard processes, including document templates and communication with the technical team members.

Requirements

  • Active Top-Secret clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in software development, or related discipline.
  • 5-8 years of experience developing and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Strong writing and editing skills in technical documentation.
  • Ability to explain complex technical ideas in simple terms.
  • Experience with documentation tools (e.g., Markdown, Confluence, Jira, etc.).
  • Experience with ELK stack, OpenSearch, SonarQube, Cypress, PowerShell, C#, and Databrick.
  • Experience with Docker, SQL, Angular, Spring Boot, Nifi, AWS, python, scala, shell scripting, and XML processing.
  • Experience in AWS solution architecture.
