About the position
The Business System Analyst (BSA) at CapTech plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions. This position involves working closely with both business and technical stakeholders to elicit requirements, drive solution design, and ensure that the final product aligns with business objectives. BSAs are expected to provide leadership and strategic insights while managing various projects, including mobile and content management systems, as well as large-scale integration and modernization efforts.
Responsibilities
- Quickly become familiar with client business challenges and technologies to act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and trusted advisor.
- Act as a key player in a team environment through all phases of the system delivery lifecycle.
- Analyze and document business processes and requirements for retail operations, ensuring alignment with PIM and/or ERP system capabilities.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and user manuals for PIM and/or ERP system processes.
- Lead the implementation and customization of ERP solutions to optimize retail operations, including inventory management, supply chain, and sales processes.
- Assist the technical team in solution design including data modeling, interface design, and state transition definition.
- Analyze data to understand current state data structures and quality and how the data might impact business objectives.
- Provide connection between technical and business views to ensure high quality and impactful solutions are delivered.
- Evaluate the current state of an organization and work with the client to define the desired future state and success metrics.
- Perform gap analysis to identify capability gaps within the organization and propose alternative solutions.
- Coordinate integration and user acceptance testing activities.
- Work with client leadership to define high level business needs and elicit feature definitions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, MIS or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience on IT-related projects as a Business Systems Analyst.
- Experience with PIM or ERP solutions.
- Familiarity with multi-system integration and common issues that arise when integrating enterprise technologies.
- Experience creating sequence, data flow, and process flow diagrams.
- Awareness of object-oriented development practices and the ability to define objects within an organization.
- Understanding of modern IT architecture solutions (Cloud, APIs, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interface with senior business leadership and technical resources.
- Ability to write and perform basic SQL queries.
- Software development work or education experience preferred.
- Experience managing and mentoring junior BSAs preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and agile project management software (e.g. JIRA).
- Prior consulting experience preferred.
