About the position
The Senior Tax Accountant at Gallo will play a crucial role in enhancing tax systems and processes, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining detailed tax records. This position involves preparing tax returns and reports, responding to tax authority queries, supporting audits, and conducting tax research. The role also includes preparing financial reports and implementing strategic tax initiatives, all while fostering a culture of ownership and innovation within the team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tax returns and reports ensuring compliance with FASB 109 for Tax Provision.
- Maintain detailed tax records and respond to queries from tax authorities.
- Support audit processes and conduct tax research to stay ahead of tax practices.
- Prepare statistical and financial reports related to tax matters.
- Implement strategic tax initiatives to enhance tax systems and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of Tax or Accounting experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of Gallo Tax or Accounting experience.
- Basic MS Word and intermediate MS Excel skills.
Nice-to-haves
- MBA or Master's degree in Accounting plus 5 years of tax or accounting experience.
- CPA license.
- Big 4 Tax or Accounting experience.
- Experience with CCH Income Tax Software and OneSource (Tax Stream) Provision Software.
- Experience with SAP General Ledger System and RIA/BNA Online Research Software.
Benefits
- Competitive salary range of $81,000 - $121,600 per year based on experience and qualifications.
